We’re saddened to confirm that Hunters powerhouse Benji Kot will miss the remainder of the 2025 season after sustaining an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury during last weekend’s clash against the Tweed Seagulls — a match the Hunters won in gritty fashion.

The injury occurred late in the game, and while Benji fought to stay on his feet, scans later confirmed a torn ACL that will require surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation process. It’s a significant setback for one of our most explosive and consistent performers this season.

Recovery from an ACL injury typically spans 9 to 12 months, depending on the individual and the progress of rehabilitation. Benji will undergo surgery in the coming weeks, followed by a structured rehab program that includes physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, and progressive return-to-play protocols. It’s a tough journey, but one that Benji is already mentally preparing for.

As a player known for his physicality, work ethic, and commitment to the team, we have every confidence that Benji will attack his recovery the same way he approaches every challenge — with heart, discipline, and determination. He’ll be supported throughout by our medical team and coaching staff to ensure he returns to the field stronger than ever.

Though he won’t be part of the on-field action for the rest of this season, Benji remains a vital part of the Hunters family. His leadership and presence around the squad will continue to inspire and uplift the group.

We wish Benji a smooth and strong recovery, and we know the entire Hunters community will be behind him every step of the way. We look forward to welcoming him back when the time is right — fit, focused, and ready to fire.
