The QRL Host plus Cup competition has postponed all Round 1 matches due to concerns over Cyclone Alfred, which has led to the closure of most airports in Southeast Queensland.
After consulting with all participating clubs, the decision was made to reschedule the matches to a later date, which will be announced in due course.
While it is disappointing for teams that have spent months preparing for the 2025 season opener, the safety of players, staff, and supporters remains our top priority. Given the unpredictable nature of extreme weather events, we believe this precautionary measure is necessary.
Our thoughts are with the communities impacted by the cyclone.
