The SP PNG Hunters Rugby League Club is pleased to announce the appointment of two highly respected professionals to its Board of Directors, strengthening the Club’s leadership as it continues to grow both on and off the field.
Joining the Board are Mr Warwick Vele a distinguished leader in the superannuation, finance and ICT sectors and Ms Belinda Manning a prominent figure in the areas of strategy and enterprise transformation, each bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for rugby league in Papua New Guinea.
Chairman of the SP PNG Hunters, Stan Joyce CSM welcomed the new appointments:
“We are delighted to welcome these two outstanding individuals to the SP PNG Hunters Board. Their expertise in corporate governance, finance and ICT will be instrumental in guiding the Club’s strategic direction and ensuring we deliver long-term success for our players, fans, and stakeholders.”
As the Hunters continue their campaign in the Hostplus Cup, the new directors will support the Club’s focus on high-performance outcomes, community engagement, and the ongoing development of pathways for emerging PNG rugby league talent.
Mr Vele said in joining the board “I am deeply honoured to join the board of the PNG Hunters at such an exciting time for rugby league in Papua New Guinea. As someone who has proudly represented our nation and worked to advance sports administration outside of competition, I know firsthand the unifying power rugby league holds in our communities. I look forward to working with my fellow directors, our players, and supporters to further strengthen the Hunters as a pathway for PNG’s emerging stars and as a symbol of national pride.”
Ms Manning also echoed a similar sentiment “I am more than thrilled at being appointed to the Board of the SP PNG Hunters. I look forward to supporting the Club’s Strategic Plan and helping to develop on and off field opportunities for young Papua New Guineans both male and female through the vehicle of rugby league.”
The PNG Hunters would like to thank the outgoing board members for their service and welcome the new directors as the Club enters its next phase of progress and ambition.
